Objectives
   
The participant should gain an understanding of:

1. The concepts of MCI and Alzheimer’s Disease

2. The neuropsychological findings in patients with AD and MCI and their relationship to imaging measures

3. The role of genetics and neuropsychological findings in AD and MCI

Educational Methods 
Lectures, course syllabus, case presentations, questions, and answers.

Target Audience
Neuropsychologists, Psychologists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Educational Diagnosticians, Physiatrists and other rehabilitation professionals, Neurologists, Gerontologists, and other Physicians.

Evaluation
Evaluation by questionnaire will address program content, presentation, and possible bias.

Accreditation
The Houston Neuropsychological Society designates this Continuing Education Activity for a maximum of 6 CE Hours/Credits.  The Houston Neuropsychological Association is approved by The American Psychological Association to offer Continuing Education for Psychologists.  Certificates of attendance will be available for other professionals.  The Houston Neuropsychological Society maintains responsibility for the program.

Location
The Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center is located at 2002 Holcombe Blvd., between Old Spanish Trail (OST), Almeda Rd, and Cambridge Rd, a few blocks east of the Texas Medical Center.  Please use the OST entrance, and park in the main parking areas (F, G, H, I, J & K).  Upon entering the VA Medical Center through the main entrance, there will be signage posted to the auditorium. The symposium will be held in the 4th floor Main Auditorium.
