Objectives
    The participant should be able to:        

Discuss the state-of-the-art in brain injury outcome measurement
Distinguish cognitive domains in which there is strong vs. weak empirical evidence of efficacy
Describe at least 2 specific methods of cognitive rehabilitation that have strong empirical support
Describe at least 6 important features of a comprehensive brain injury rehabilitation day program
Describe the features of patients who require comprehensive day treatment compared to those who will benefit from more limited outpatient rehabilitation
Describe at least 4 fundamental features of effective vocational rehabilitation for people with brain injury
The learner will formulate an opinion about the future of clinical neuropsychology.

Evaluation
Evaluation by questionnaire will address program content, presentation, and possible bias.

Accreditation
The Houston Neuropsychological Society

designates this Continuing Education Activity

for a maximum of 6 CE Hours/Credits of

Continuing Education.  The Houston Neuropsychological Association is approved by The American Psychological Association to offer Continuing Education for Psychologists.  We also offer 6 CE hours for speech-language pathologists.  Certificates of attendance will be available for other professionals.  The Houston Neuropsychological Society maintains responsibility for the program.

 

Poster Competition: A poster competition ($500 cash prize) for graduate students and post-doctoral fellows will also be held at the symposium, and entrants are eligible for reduced cost for the symposium.
